Subscriber Studio Tip Corner

Welcome to your creative tip corner. In addition to checking out just a few of my tips below, you can also find loads of helpful information over in my Art Resources page.

Your images on social media:

Do you ever have an image that looks cut off or not proportioned right after you post it on social media? I use a (free) program called Canva, which is a simplified graphic-design tool website that allows you to use their formatted templates to create social media posts. ***Note: Canva can be used for all kinds of print media design and graphics as well, like business cards, posters, etc.

Here is a simple video of how I use Canva with my iPad.

Visit Canva for more detailed tutorials, which are located in the Design School section of Canva. https://designschool.canva.com/tutorials/getting-started/

Acrylic over a charcoal.:

This is a snippet of my “Moving On Without You” painting where I started with a charcoal drawing, sealed it with a fixative, and finished off the painting with acrylic paint. I do struggle with her shoulder believing she looks like a hump-back…LOL. Watch as I try every tool in my arsenal to fix something that was probably fine to begin with.

Video Outtakes:

As you know I love to teach online, which requires me to make videos of my painting processes. I usually try to include an introduction video where I actual talk on camera…funny things always happen to me!

Sometimes I crack myself up and wanted to share my silliness with you.
