In this mixed media video, we will paint a whimsical robot with simple body form using paper and acrylics. Let’s not forget our background, so we will create texture using a brayer and acrylic paints.

Sometimes I just want to have fun when I create. Simplicity can free the mind. It doesn’t take away from our academic skill. It reminds us to have fun while we create. This whimsical bird combines acrylics, graphite, a Stabilo-All pencil, and stencils.

What, you don’t have any stencils. Okay let’s save some money and make our own "dot" stencil. Just because a painting is simple doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be cohesive; stippling and blending techniques will pull our painting all together.

Do you want to engage your viewer? It’s all about the story! This video will introduce you to creating a three panel story board to tell the character of a whimsical cat. Not all paintings need to be an intense creation. Let’s try our hand at illustration, which will open up relaxation, humor, and storytelling.

We are never tied to just using brushes, so let’s try a sponge to develop a tie-dye affect. Words can be powerful, in this video we use simplistic word blocks to help provide image explanation.
